At Cicada Lodge, we are proud to offer a uniquely immersive and inclusive experience in the heart of Nitmiluk National Park.

We are committed to operating responsibly and preserving the natural and cultural richness of Nitmiluk Country and as such, we are certified by Ecotourism Australia for Ecotourism and Green Travel Leadership.

We hold Sustainability Accreditation with Australian Tourism Industry Council and hold Accor’s Planet 21 Certification.

As an example of our ongoing green initiatives, Cicada Lodge has recently invested in:

  • Solar-powered path lighting to reduce energy use.
  • Electric buggies for guest transfers, luggage, waste, and food service – offering a quiet, low-impact transport option that enhances the guest experience.
  • Eco-conscious practices including eliminating single-use plastic straws, implementing waste reduction strategies, choosing sustainable suppliers, and planting native trees and vegetation across the property to support local ecosystems.

  • Embarked on a Tourism Emissions Reduction Commitment and undertaken a detailed Sustainability Impact Assessment through CarbonHalo.
